Harbor Seals

Harbor seals are a common marine mammal found along the U.S coasts. They are usually seen resting on rocks.

Harbor seals do not have ear flaps like some seals, and instead have a hole where the ear is. They can grow up to 6 feet in length and weigh 285 pounds. Harbor seals have short snouts and large eyes, making them look pretty adorable.

They have a variety of colors, such as tan, silver, and blue-gray. Harbor Seal Pups can swim right after they are born, unlike humans, where it takes years to learn how to walk. I think this would be very useful if a newborn could just run around from birth, so you don't have to carry it around everywhere. The seal's diet consists of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. They can sleep underwater and hold their breath for 30 minutes. They get sexually mature at 3-7 years old, where they have pups every spring/summer. They are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972.
