Man Catches Huge Goldfish

When you think of goldfish, you normally think of small, cute little fish that grow to the size of your hand at most.

This might be the case for most goldfish, but not the one that Andy Hackett caught. Andy Hackett caught a 30 kilogram (or 67 pounds for Americans) goldfish in Bluewater Lakes at Champagne, France. The fish, which was called carrot because of it's orange color, was put into the lake 20 years ago. Hackett posed for photos with the fish after spending 25 minutes reeling it in, before releasing it back into the wild.

I think it is amazing how a fish that is supposed to be able to live in a small bowl can grow to be the size of a toddler. I wonder if this is just a very rare large goldfish or if they can all grow this big in the same circumstances.
