Do Sharks sleep?

The quick answer is that sharks do not sleep. Although some species of sharks need to move around constantly to breathe, some sharks like nurse sharks and angel sharks can lie on the seafloor and can pump oxygen into their gills. Even if they don't sleep, these sharks have active periods where they move around and hunt and rest periods where they just sit still and relax.
