Aquatic Creatures in my Neighborhood

I live right next to the bay, so there a lot of different animals around here. Here are some of the coolest.

- Leopard Sharks

Leopard sharks are one of the most common Sharks in california, and there are a lot of them here. These Sharks can get up to 5 feet long, and usually live in kelp forests and shallow waters. Leopard Sharks will sometimes hunt in shivers(a group of Sharks). They will eat clams, fish, fish eggs, spoon worms, crabs, and shrimp. The female has a gestation period of 10-12 months, and can have as much as 37 young. They are also one of the most common Sharks in the aquarium trade.

- Epaulette Sharks

Epaulette sharks are common in tropical waters, like Australia and New Guinea. They get about a meter long, and are yellow with black and white spots. They are nocturnal and can survive on land 2 hours! They like to use their fins to ”walk” on the bottom instead of swimming. They like to eat small bony fish, and are also common in the aquarium trade.
